Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Location: Hampton Inn & Suites
60 South Main Street
Cedar City, UT 84720
About Us
We are Cedar City’s newest hotel, committed to providing exceptional guest experiences and a relaxing stay. We are looking for a dedicated AGM with the ability to foster a supportive, professional team environment.
About Your Role
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of our hotel operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a professional demeanor, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for hospitality. You will play a crucial part in ensuring efficiency, maintaining brand standards, and maximizing guest and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Partner with the GM to oversee daily operations across all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate staff members. Assist with hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Guest Relations: Ensure exceptional guest service standards are consistently met. Promptly and professionally resolve guest concerns and monitor guest feedback (e.g., TripAdvisor, surveys) to implement improvements.
- Financial Duties: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, monitoring financial performance, and managing inventory levels.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with brand standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Manager on Duty (MOD): Participate in the MOD program, providing a leadership presence across various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.
- Sales and Marketing: support the hotel's sales and marketing efforts primarily through on-site execution, local networking, and ensuring operational excellence that drives repeat business. While the General Manager and a dedicated Sales Director often handle high-level strategy and large contract negotiations, the AGM is crucial for implementing these plans on a daily basis.
- Revenue Management Support: Participating in weekly revenue meetings and ensuring the front desk staff understands and applies dynamic pricing and yield management policies to achieve maximum revenue.
- Identifying Demand Generators: Knowing the hotel's key demand segments and primary competitors to actively market against them and leverage the hotel's strengths.
