General Manager

IHG hotel is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead one of our hotel properties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, team development, guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational excellence. This position is responsible for the overall success of the hotel, including financial performance, guest service, sales, maintenance, and team leadership.

Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the hotel. This leader will ensure guest satisfaction, maximize profitability, maintain brand standards, develop team members, and protect company assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop hotel team members.
  • Foster a positive, productive, and accountable work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote employee engagement and retention.
Guest Service
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain high guest satisfaction scores.
  • Respond to guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with all brand standards and guest service requirements.
Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial statements and operating reports.
  • Maximize revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Control labor costs, operating expenses, and purchasing.
  • Achieve established GOP, RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and guest satisfaction goals.
Sales & Revenue Management
  • Work closely with Sales and Revenue Management teams to drive hotel performance.
  • Monitor competitive market trends.
  • Develop and execute local sales initiatives.
  • Participate in revenue strategy meetings and implement action plans.
Operations
  • Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast/Food Service, and Sales departments.
  • Ensure hotel cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular property inspections.
  • Maintain brand compliance and readiness for quality assurance inspections.
Safety & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees and guests.
  • Ensure proper training on safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Oversee workers' compensation, incident reporting, and risk management procedures.
Property Maintenance
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs.
  • Monitor capital improvement projects and renovations.
  • Ensure the hotel maintains excellent curb appeal and asset condition.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of hotel General Manager experience preferred.
  • Experience with IHG is Mandatory
  • Proven success in driving revenue and profitability.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with hotel Opea PMS systems, revenue management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and operational reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for training and company meetings.
