Household Assistant

Location: Alamo, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | 40–45 hours/week Guaranteed

Compensation: $30–$35/hour (DOE) plus 7 weeks of PTO!

About the Family

Warm, established family in Alamo with three children (ages 16, 13, and 9) seeking an experienced and professional Household Assistant for a long-term role. The oldest child is largely independent; the position primarily supports the two younger boys and the overall smooth operation of the household.

Both parents are frequently home during the workday. They are seeking a confident, professional candidate who is comfortable working independently and maintaining routines regardless of parental presence.

The family values clear communication, reliability, and a positive, capable energy. They have had long-term household support in the past and are committed to finding the right long-term fit.

Schedule & Flow of the Day

• Morning (7:00–8:30am):
• Assist with breakfast for two school-aged boys
• Prepare simple lunches
• School drop-off
• Midday (school hours):
• Meal prep (simple, healthy family meals)
• Grocery shopping and errands
• Family laundry
• Light household tasks (housekeepers handle deep cleaning)
• Letting dogs outside and basic pet care
• Managing packages, returns, and household errands
• Proactively assisting with household needs (e.g., researching vendors, coordinating minor maintenance or repairs)
• Afternoon (after school):
• Support children as needed
• Maintain household organization and prep for the following day

Responsibilities

• Full-charge family assistance and childcare support
• Meal planning and prep (not chef-level; organized, simple, nutritious meals)
• Grocery shopping and household errands
• Family laundry and light household upkeep
• Coordination of household tasks and to-dos
• Occasional driving of children (family car provided)
• Very basic pet care for two mini goldendoodles (one is a puppy)
• Strong communication with parents regarding household needs

Ideal Candidate

• Professional nanny/family assistant experience
• Confident, trustworthy, mature, and highly reliable
• Excellent communicator who welcomes feedback
• Organized, proactive, and self-directed
• Punctual and consistent
• Positive energy and calm under pressure

Compensation & Benefits

• $30–$35/hour, depending on experience
• 40–45 guaranteed hours per week
• Paid major holidays
• 6 weeks paid vacation (ideally aligned with family travel)

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 21 years of age
• Minimum 3 years professional childcare experience
• House management or family assistant experience strongly preferred
• Cooking experience strongly preferred. Interest in cooking a must!
• Clean motor vehicle record
• 3 professional childcare references (yes, we check!)
• Willing to undergo background screening
• CPR/First-Aid Certification (or willing to receive)
• TrustLine Registration (or willing to receive)
