We are hiring a Housekeeper!
The Barry Robinson Center is a premier nonprofit behavioral health system dedicated to improving the lives of children and families since 1933. We offer residential treatment, outpatient services and foster care from our campus in Norfolk, VA.
We are a mental and behavioral health facility that provides help to military connected you. We are seeking a Full Time Housekeeper. The purpose of this role is to provide housekeeping services throughout the campus.
Hours: Monday - Friday 10:00am – 6:30pm. Must be able to work 1 Sunday a month.
Pay: $16–$18 per hour, based on experience, education, and overall qualifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform general housekeeping duties for The Center. Cleaning walls, floors, woodwork, windows, doors, furniture, light fixtures, rest rooms and bedrooms using standard housekeeping techniques and industry standards for cleaning.

Clean bathrooms including sinks, showers, mirrors, and toilets using liquid disinfectant in order to maintain cleanliness.
- Remove trash from all receptacles daily and place in dumpster. Sanitize trashcans as needed or directed.

Clean door glass in all buildings.

Collect red (infectious waste) trash bags in containers after each use, sanitize each trash receptacle, insert fresh red bag, and dispose of used red bag in locked storage area.

Ensure all supplies in housekeeping closet and carts are present and request additional items as needed in order to ensure the cart is ready for its next use.
- Clean air vents in compliance within necessary parameters.
- Perform deep clean and follow standard industry practices when cleaning furniture in each building on campus.
- Clean baseboards.
- Maintain housekeeping carts and closets in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Dust offices and rooms as needed or directed.

Maintain dorm laundry rooms in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Wash and dry linens as needed or directed.
- Fold and label linens for residents in order to ensure each resident picks up the correct bundle of laundry.
Non-Essential Job Duties:

Fill out work orders in order to provide the maintenance department with observed deficiencies in order to ensure proper maintenance of campus buildings.

Shampoo carpets as needed or directed by the Director or designee.
- Respond to emergencies set by the Director and/or department as they occur in other buildings.

Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Director or designee.

Candidate must be capable of performing all the essential duties of the position. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push and pull. Must be able to lift/push a minimum of 30 pounds. Must be able to comprehend written directions. Education & Experience Minimum Qualifications:
