About the Role
We’re seeking a trustworthy, upbeat, highly organized Housekeeper + Household Assistant who can also house-sit when we’re away. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order, anticipating needs, and keeping communication clear and consistent.
Schedule
Morning window: 7:00 / 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 1:00 PM with flexibility
Typical shifts: 4–6 hours (schedule can become consistent once hired)
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Home Reset
- General housekeeping: kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting, vacuuming, tidying, trash/recycling
- Daily “reset” of main living areas so the home stays clean, calm, and organized
- Light home organization projects (fridge/pantry/closets/cabinets as needed)
Laundry (Important)
- Fold clean laundry neatly and put everything away in the correct drawers/closets
- Learn and maintain the home’s clothing organization system (children + adults)
- Keep drawers/closets orderly; re-fold/re-stack as needed; return misplaced items
- Ask when unsure where something belongs and learn the system quickly
Household Assistant Tasks
- Run errands including dry cleaning drop-off/pick-up, post office as needed
- Returns: take packages back to stores, handle returns/exchanges as directed, keep receipts organized
- Sort/organize mail and packages; keep deliveries tidy and in the right place
- Maintain household supplies and pantry basics; track what’s running low
- Create a running grocery/household list; optionally shop for items with our card
Light Family + Pet Support
- Feed/walk the dog and keep dog-related areas tidy
- Occasionally prepare a simple breakfast for our child
- Occasional dog-sitting (scheduled in advance)
House-Sitting (When We’re Away)
- Help keep the home secure and running smoothly while we travel (mail/packages, basic home checks, pet support as needed)
- Communicate updates as requested and flag anything urgent immediately
Coordination with Other Helpers / Vendors
- Help coordinate with other home service providers when on-site (yard care, window cleaning, etc.)
- Ensure work is completed as requested and vendors leave the property when finished
- Provide brief updates to us and flag concerns or incomplete work
Communication & House Standards (Important)
- We need excellent communication, especially when you are out running errands or house-sitting (quick updates, ETA’s, confirmations).
- If you need time off/vacation, please communicate as far in advance as possible so we can plan coverage.
- Strict phone policy: no personal phone use during work hours. Phone use is only allowed for work-related communication with us or tasks we request.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in housekeeping and/or household assisting
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, discreet, and takes initiative
- Warm, positive attitude
- Comfortable around children and dogs
- Must speak English well. Bilingual is welcome.
Pay
$23.00-$25/hour depending on experience and fit.
We’re happy to start at $25/hour for the right person (strong organization + reliability + communication).
Opportunity for additional Hours
- House-sitting, dog-sitting, and child shifts, child care shifts (as needed).
