Hyatt Regency San Francisco is a landmark waterfront hotel located on the Embarcadero, known for its iconic atrium lobby and high-volume business, group, and leisure travel. Our Housekeeping team plays a vital role in delivering a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment that reflects Hyatt’s purpose—to care for people so they can be their best.
The Housekeeping Inspector ensures guest rooms and assigned areas meet Hyatt Regency standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation. This role conducts detailed room inspections, supports room readiness for arrivals and VIPs, partners closely with Front Office and Engineering, and helps coach housekeeping colleagues to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Room & Area Inspections
Inspect guest rooms after cleaning to verify cleanliness, proper set-up, and overall presentation (bed making, bathroom sanitation, dusting, floors, amenities, and high-touch areas).
Confirm room readiness for arrivals, early check-ins, group turns, and VIP/special request rooms.
Inspect and document deficiencies; ensure timely re-clean or correction before releasing rooms.
Inspect assigned public areas and back-of-house spaces as needed to uphold cleanliness standards.
Quality Standards & Guest Experience
Ensure rooms meet brand standards for guest comfort, consistency, and safety.
Identify and address recurring quality issues; communicate trends to housekeeping leadership.
Support service recovery by responding to guest concerns related to room cleanliness and coordinating prompt resolution.
Coordination & Communication
Communicate room status updates accurately and promptly with the Front Office (room readiness, rush rooms, out-of-order/out-of-service).
Report maintenance needs through the work order system; follow up with Engineering to confirm completion.
Coordinate with Laundry/Linen, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure par levels and supplies support daily operations.
Training & Team Support
Provide feedback and coaching to Room Attendants on cleaning standards, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Support onboarding/training efforts by demonstrating proper procedures, chemical safety, and brand expectations.
Promote a positive, respectful work environment and teamwork across shifts.
Safety, Security & Compliance
Follow and reinforce safe work practices, PPE usage, proper chemical handling, and OSHA/health guidelines.
Ensure adherence to guest privacy protocols (DND procedures, lost and found, key control).
Maintain accurate inspection documentation and ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
This is an hourly position with a compensation of $34.04 per hour.

Qualifications
1–2 years of hotel housekeeping experience (inspector or supervisory experience preferred).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness.
Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-occupancy environment.
Basic computer or mobile device skills for inspections/work orders (system varies by property).
Strong communication skills and ability to coach and support colleagues.
Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience inspecting rooms in a full-service or high-volume hotel.
Familiarity with brand standards, room readiness processes, and service recovery.
