The Housekeeping Intern supports the housekeeping team in ensuring guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to hotel standards. This role offers hands-on experience in hotel operations, cleanliness standards, and guest service, while assisting Room Attendants and leaders in delivering a high level of guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Room Attendants in cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas as per hotel standards.
• Replenish supplies such as towels, linens, and amenities in guest rooms and housekeeping pantries.
• Support in organizing housekeeping trolleys and storage areas.
• Help with daily tasks such as sorting laundry, stocking housekeeping closets, and preparing cleaning materials.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or guest requests to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
• Observe and learn proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and use of equipment.
• Respond to basic guest requests professionally and politely, escalating when needed.
• Participate in training sessions and team briefings to develop skills and understanding of housekeeping operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Uphold the hotel's hygiene, safety, and appearance standards at all times.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Currently enrolled in a hospitality or related program (or recent graduate seeking internship experience).
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and work as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Basic understanding of cleaning tools and supplies (training will be provided).
• Physically able to perform housekeeping tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
