Housekeeping Manger - Marriot Experienced

What’s the job?

Responsible for the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. Directs and works with employees to verify property guestrooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Completes inspections and holds people accountable for corrective action. Position assists in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the

operating budget.

Your day-to-day

  • Direct and manage daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas meet Marriott brand standards
  • Ensure the hotel meets overall Marriott regulations and SOPs, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines. This is particularly important as Marriott’s focus on sustainability and energy efficiency is a key KPI.
  • Meet the Marriott brand’s standards, target customer needs, ensure employee satisfaction, focus on Guest Experience.
  • Verifies guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inspects guestrooms on a daily basis.
  • Champion Marriott’s Serve 360 sustainability initiative within the housekeeping department.
  • Monitor sustainability KPIs and contribute to the hotel’s green certification goals (e.g., LEED, Green Key, EarthCheck.
  • Implement environmentally responsible practices including:

a. Water and energy conservation in laundry and cleaning routines.

b. Use of eco-friendly and biodegradable cleaning products

c. Linen and towel reuse programs for guests.

d. Waste reduction, segregation, and recycling procedures.

  • Monitor sustainability KPIs and contribute to the hotel’s green certification goals (e.g., LEED, Green Key, EarthCheck).
  • Train staff on eco-conscious practices and promote team awareness of environmental impact.
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Optimize staffing schedules based on occupancy forecasts and operational needs.
  • Resolve guest complaints and service issues promptly with a focus on satisfaction and recovery.
  • Ensure special requests (VIPs, amenities, room preferences) are handled accurately and

efficiently.

  • Inventories stock to verify adequate supplies.
  • Supports and supervises an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space.
  • Understands the impact of department’s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Verifies all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
  • Communicates areas that need attention to staff and follows up to verify understanding.
  • Supervises daily Housekeeping shift operations and verifies compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards and procedures.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Understands the Marriott brand's service culture.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction.
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous

improvement.

  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Strives to improve service performance.

Education & Experience

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management or a related major.
  • 2 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel in the same/similar role.
  • Marriott experience as a Housekeeping Manager preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management and stakeholder management.
  • Strong guest experience and brand audit results in in previous assignments.
  • Local UAE or GCC experience in similar capacity as must
