Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily housekeeping operations, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards are maintained in guest rooms and public areas. The role involves leading housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas
  • Allocate duties and assign room cleaning tasks to housekeeping attendants
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met
  • Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Train, guide, and monitor housekeeping staff to improve performance and service quality
  • Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping professionally and promptly
  • Coordinate with Front Office for room status updates (occupied, vacant, check-out rooms)
  • Report maintenance issues and follow up with the Engineering Department
  • Monitor and control linen, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping inventory
  • Ensure proper use and care of cleaning equipment and hotel assets
  • Maintain staff attendance, grooming standards, and discipline
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate operational issues to the Housekeeping Manager
  • Ensure adherence to hotel policies, SOPs, and safety procedures
  • Assist during peak periods, VIP arrivals, and special events

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Senior Housekeeping Attendant (4+)
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment (4 star preferred)
  • Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning chemicals, and safety standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer knowledge is an advantage
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Good command of English (additional languages are an advantage)
