Compensation: Starting at $21/hour

Gentle Landing Homes is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to help oversee cleaning operations across our growing portfolio of short-term rental properties. This role combines hands-on cleaning responsibilities with leadership, training, scheduling, and quality-control duties to ensure every property consistently meets our five-star standards.

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will coordinate cleaning operations, support and train cleaning contractors, conduct property inspections, address cleaning concerns, and help maintain the high standards that drive exceptional guest experiences. This position typically offers more hours than a standard cleaning contractor role due to the additional responsibilities involved.

We currently manage properties throughout Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Greenwood, and Overland Park. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between assigned properties is required.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Support

• Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations across multiple properties
• Train new cleaning contractors on company standards, procedures, safety practices, and guest expectations
• Conduct ongoing cleaning trainings and quality improvement sessions
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to help contractors maintain company standards
• Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail
• Foster a positive team environment focused on quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction

Scheduling & Operations

• Create and maintain cleaning schedules for all assigned properties
• Coordinate cleaner assignments and coverage for scheduled turnovers
• Assist with same-day turnovers and high-volume turnover periods
• Serve as the primary point of contact for cleaning-related concerns and operational issues
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering and restocking of cleaning supplies and guest amenities
• Ensure cleaning operations run smoothly and efficiently across all properties

Quality Control & Inspections

• Conduct property inspections following cleaner completions
• Verify homes meet company cleaning standards before guest arrivals
• Identify missed items and coordinate corrections when necessary
• Monitor overall cleaning quality and consistency across all properties
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards
• Document quality concerns and communicate corrective actions when needed

Cleaning & Property Preparation

• Perform turnover cleanings between guest stays as needed
• Thoroughly clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and common spaces
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize surfaces
• Change bed linens and make beds according to company standards
• Wash, dry, fold, and restock towels and linens as needed
• Clean and put away dishes
• Empty trash and replace liners
• Restock guest supplies including toiletries, paper products, coffee supplies, and other amenities
• Ensure homes are organized, staged properly, and guest-ready before check-in
• Complete property-specific cleaning checklists
• Report damages, maintenance concerns, missing items, and operational issues to management

Ideal Contractor

• Proven experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, custodial work, hospitality, hotel operations, or short-term rental cleaning
• Previous supervisory, training, or leadership experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to train, motivate, and support team members
• Comfortable working independently while managing multiple responsibilities
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and safety practices
• Reliable transportation required
• Comfortable traveling between assigned properties
