Job Title: Housekeeper & Laundry Assistant
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / General Manager

Position Summary

The Housekeeper & Laundry Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests by cleaning guest rooms and public areas, as well as operating the laundry department to ensure an adequate supply of clean linens and towels. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and excellent teamwork.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping Duties

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel standards.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and amenities.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust guest rooms and public areas.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors.
  • Remove trash and used linens from guest rooms.
  • Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards to management.
  • Restock housekeeping carts and supply closets.
  • Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures.

Laundry Duties

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, and other laundry items.
  • Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and report replacement needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of clean linens is available for daily operations.
  • Follow proper chemical handling and laundry procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts and laundry bins.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and use cleaning chemicals safely.

Work Schedule

  • Flexible schedule.
