Housing Services Navigator/ Case Manager

The Housing Services Navigator/Case Manager is part of InterAct’s Personal and Economic Empowerment team, providing case management, advocacy, and support services to adult survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. This role assesses clients’ needs, develops individualized service plans, and coordinates with community partners to help clients achieve safety, stability, and independence. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, trauma-informed practice, and a commitment to InterAct’s mission and values.


Key Responsibilities


Client Support Services

  • Conduct housing and service intakes for new participants, verifying eligibility and ensuring complete, accurate documentation.
  • Enter client information into the agency database and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Serve as liaison between clients and in-house programs (e.g., legal, therapeutic, and financial literacy services).
  • Coordinate and track the financial literacy program, including workshop scheduling.
  • Collaborate with clients, case managers, and community partners to ensure comprehensive support services.
  • Provide general administrative support to the housing program as needed.

Case Management and Service Coordination

  • Provide trauma-informed counseling and case management to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Assess clients’ housing barriers and strengths, developing individualized, strength-based housing plans that promote stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Assist clients with long-term goals related to housing, education, and economic advancement.
  • Educate clients about lease agreements, tenants’ rights, and responsibilities.
  • Support clients in developing personal budgets through proactive counseling sessions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, landlords, referral sources, and partner agencies.
  • Represent InterAct in community collaborations and serve as liaison with external organizations.

Crisis Response and Advocacy

  • Participate in on-call rotation for crisis lines and walk-in support, including assigned evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Provide court, hospital, and Solace Center advocacy as needed.
  • Respond to walk-ins and crisis line calls as part of the agency’s crisis response services.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely client records and case notes in Empower DB.
  • Collect and report all required data for grants and compliance.

Professional Development and Mission Alignment

  • Train and support volunteers and interns assigned.
  • Represent InterAct and its mission in community engagements and partnership initiatives.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Complete initial onboarding and at least 20 hours of continuing education annually.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality, ethical, and agency policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field and three (3) years of experience with survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault or case management; OR Five (5) years of equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, mediation, and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation abilities with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of strengths-based case management, tenants’ rights, and housing resources.
  • Familiarity with “Housing First” philosophy preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of community resources and social service systems.
  • Ability to establish healthy boundaries and empower clients toward independence.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, crisis management, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
  • Satisfactory background check and compliance with InterAct’s Communicable Disease Policy.
