HR Business Partner

JOB SUMMARY
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objective of the organization.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
  • Prepares and analyzes reports on HR metrics, projects, and programs, as requested by manager or other business leaders
  • Manages implementation of process improvements within HRIS and related software, including brainstorming, partnering with HRIS Specialist, and testing new processes
  • Assists with developing, coordinating, and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow within the HR department and on HR matters across the business
  • Consults and guides the organization through times of change and supports organizational development
  • Promotes proactive approaches to problem solving, utilizing current systems and implementing new systems to achieve results
  • Participates in other business projects, representing HR on cross-functional teams to achieve project deliverables
  • Develops, revises, implements, and administers HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Guides employees and supervisors in HR related matters, consulting and supporting in decision making processes
  • Establishes procedures to ensure employees are assisted appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Supports and guides managers and individual employees in talent and performance management processes
  • Supports immigration process by managing individual cases. Will work directly with immigration attorney to ensure record compliance as well as case management
  • Partners with HR Director to plan and manage budget for HR related programs
  • Conducts periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and with any relevant federal, state or local legislation.
  • Adhere to the Company mission, policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulations.
  • Understand and abide by Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Creative thinker with exceptional problem-solving capabilities and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be precise
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel capabilities
  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management
  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Five or more years of professional-level experience in human resources
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Experience working with a union-represented workforce strongly preferred
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
