Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate HR Coordinator to support our Human Resources department in all day-to-day operations. This role will play a key contributor to recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, HR data and reporting, and other general HR duties. Key Responsibilities
Assist in full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, reviewing resumes for qualification alignments, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and facilitating onboarding
Administer employee benefits (enrollment, changes, and terminations) and serve as a benefits point of contact
Coordinate new hire onboarding, credentialing, and orientation (including background checks, licensure verification/renewal, and required health screenings)
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system and personnel files
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, PTO, and procedures
HR Operations & Compliance
Maintain and update applicant tracking using Excel Spreadsheets, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
Support compliance with federal/state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC) and regulatory requirements relevant to behavioral health (e.g., HIPAA for staff, credential tracking)
Maintain and update HR documents and business trackers
Track and document compliance items such as certification, continuing education, and licensure renewals for clinical staff
Maintain confidentiality of all personnel information and adhere to HIPAA and organizational privacy standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
1-3 years of HR experience preferably in healthcare or behavioral health fields
Excellent communication and organizational skills
High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational, administrative skills, and ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
Knowledge of basic employment law and HR best practices (HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
Must have a driver's license
Preferred
Experience supporting HR or compliance in a healthcare or behavioral health organization
Experience assisting with credentialing or licensure tracking
Experience with benefits administration and generating HR metrics
Work Environment
Standard office setting within a behavioral health facility or administrative office
Full-time, typically Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Occasional travel between sites for staff support or training sessions
