Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate HR Coordinator to support our Human Resources department in all day-to-day operations. This role will play a key contributor to recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, HR data and reporting, and other general HR duties. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, reviewing resumes for qualification alignments, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and facilitating onboarding

  • Administer employee benefits (enrollment, changes, and terminations) and serve as a benefits point of contact

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, credentialing, and orientation (including background checks, licensure verification/renewal, and required health screenings)

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system and personnel files

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, PTO, and procedures

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain and update applicant tracking using Excel Spreadsheets, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality

  • Support compliance with federal/state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC) and regulatory requirements relevant to behavioral health (e.g., HIPAA for staff, credential tracking)

  • Maintain and update HR documents and business trackers

  • Track and document compliance items such as certification, continuing education, and licensure renewals for clinical staff

  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel information and adhere to HIPAA and organizational privacy standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 1-3 years of HR experience preferably in healthcare or behavioral health fields

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational, administrative skills, and ability to work independently

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)

  • Knowledge of basic employment law and HR best practices (HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)

  • Must have a driver's license

Preferred

  • Experience supporting HR or compliance in a healthcare or behavioral health organization

  • Experience assisting with credentialing or licensure tracking

  • Experience with benefits administration and generating HR metrics

Work Environment

  • Standard office setting within a behavioral health facility or administrative office

  • Full-time, typically Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Occasional travel between sites for staff support or training sessions
