HR Generalist

Position: HR Generalist

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid)

Pay: $65k/year

Experience: 4 to 6 years of related or equivalent human resources experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Greene Resources is seeking an HR Generalist to join a growing and dynamic team! While remaining objective and independent, HR Generalists research to solve issues, provide recommendations, identify workflows and processes, and support the overall HR team to achieve the client’s results. This position is hybrid and may require local onsite travel to client locations.

Job Description:

General HR Duties

  • Support HR Consultant and clients with HR operations including compliance, policy interpretation, performance management, hiring/terminations, compensation, labor relations, and employee development.
  • Administer benefits: enrollments, terminations, COBRA, open enrollment, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Provide consultative HR support remotely and on-site, building strong client relationships.
  • Research, develop, and implement HR policies, programs, trainings, reports, surveys, and recruitment-related activities.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence and related workflows.
  • Maintain accurate HR files, data, and documentation.
  • Stay current on HR laws, practices, and trends, sharing expertise with colleagues and clients.

Client Relationship & Account Management

  • Collaborate with consultants on client action plans, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with client management and employees.

Project Management

  • Prioritize and manage workload, shifting deadlines, and client deliverables efficiently.
  • Track time accurately and provide clear descriptions of work performed.
  • Communicate anticipated project overages proactively.

Other Key Functions

  • Model professional behaviors, values, and best practices for the team.
  • Contribute to improving SOPs, tools, templates, and analytics for consistent client service.
  • Plan and coordinate weekly internal development calls for training and team building.
  • Support business development by promoting HR expertise and services.
  • Actively engage in culture initiatives and team meetings with open communication and ideas.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience processing full cycle multistate payroll is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP and/or HRCI-PHR certifications are highly desirable.
  • Solid foundation of HR knowledge – particularly, understanding of federal, state and local employment laws, regulations, and practices; multistate is ideal; as well as a keen ability to serve as a business partner.
  • Familiarity with general business management functions. Demonstrates ability to work cross-functionally within an organization.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, HRIS systems and video conferencing technology, specifically Zoom and Microsoft Teams, are required.
  • Experience with processing payroll in multiple systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology systems.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in project management skills and the ability to manage the moving parts and priorities of multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Clear, open, and honest communication with the ability to navigate difficult conversations and build productive relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: active listening, empathy, adaptability, and authentic connection with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven account management experience, ensuring clarity on scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Creative problem-solving and innovation, with openness to new approaches and continuous improvement.
  • Teamwork and coaching mindset, promoting knowledge sharing, skill-building, and positive collaboration.
  • Efficiency and effectiveness in producing quality work, streamlining processes, and managing resources wisely.
