HR Generalist

Buffalo Construction is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide comprehensive support across the full spectrum of human resources functions. This role is responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, administering benefits, supporting compliance initiatives, and facilitating a seamless teammate experience from onboarding through the entire employment lifecycle. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted partner to both leaders and teammates, handling matters with professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to our core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll & Benefits: Process payroll in Paylocity with accuracy and timeliness; manage benefit enrollments, changes, and teammate inquiries.
• Onboarding: Lead the new hire onboarding process, ensuring each teammate has a smooth, welcoming, and engaging start.
• HR Compliance & Employee Relations: Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations; provide guidance on policy application, conflict resolution, and leave management (FMLA, ADA, disability).
• Teammate Support: Act as a resource for HR-related questions and concerns, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
• Operational Support: Assist with policies, projects, and continuous improvement efforts; support office and fleet administration as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of HR experience in a generalist or HR support capacity.
• Experience with Paylocity highly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
