HR Generalist

Position Summary

The HR Generalist at our new Valdosta facility will play a pivotal role in establishing and supporting HR operations at the site. This position will provide day-to-day HR support, manage core HR processes, and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.

The HR Generalist will partner with leadership, employees, and the broader HR team to foster a positive and productive workplace culture while aligning with company-wide initiatives. As part of Red Cat’s maritime division, BlueOps develops USV systems in the defense and naval sector, which offers a unique opportunity to shape HR practices in a cutting-edge, mission-driven environment.

This position is in-person at the Valdosta, GA facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General HR Operations

  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers at the Valdosta facility.
  • Support full employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding, ensuring a seamless experience aligned with company culture and compliance standards.
  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries across HR functions, providing guidance and escalating complex matters to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain and optimize personnel files and records within HRIS (Paycom) and file management systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of employee communications related to HR programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the design and rollout of internal HR projects, including employee engagement, performance management, and employees’ initiatives.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Support the Talent Acquisition team by facilitating pre-employment screenings as needed and managing new hire documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure smooth onboarding experience, including first-day orientation and initial training coordination.

Benefits Administration

  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to support enrollments, qualifying events, and general inquiries.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide day-to-day employee relations support and foster a positive workplace culture through timely and professional communication.
  • Maintain awareness of and support compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Assist with internal investigations, policy updates, and required reporting.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee data and generate reports within Paycom.
  • Support the management of the Learning Management System (LMS) in Paycom, including assisting with training assignments, tracking completion, and ensuring accurate system records, as needed.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and documentation for audits, compliance, and leadership requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR administration, or generalist-level support.
  • Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, operations, or facility start-up environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and problem-solving skills; able to work with discretion and professionalism across all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and carry files or boxes up to 15 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry, filing, and documentation tasks.
  • Effective communication across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed for key HR priorities.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time at the Valdosta, GA facility.
