Pay Scale: This position is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary of $65,000 to $80,000. Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch.

Desert Haven Enterprises (DHE) is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, and supporting managers with personnel matters.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist partners with leadership and the Human Resource Representative (consultant) to ensure effective HR operations and compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. This position plays a key role in maintaining personnel records, administering benefits, coordinating training, supporting corrective action processes, and ensuring organizational adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment, screening, interviews, hiring, and onboarding activities.

  • Collaborate with managers to identify staffing needs and required qualifications.

  • Ensure completion of pre-employment requirements and new hire orientation.

Employee Relations & Performance Support

  • Assist managers with policy interpretation, corrective action, performance evaluations, and employee concerns.

  • Participate in investigations, disciplinary meetings, and exit interviews.

  • Track employee performance evaluation schedules and required documentation.

Benefits Administration

  • Coordinate health, dental, vision, and workers’ compensation benefits.

  • Conduct open enrollment and support employees with leave administration.

  • Serve as liaison with insurance providers and external representatives.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain personnel and benefits records in compliance with applicable laws.

  • Ensure required workplace postings are current.

  • Complete and/or assist with required reports (e.g., Cal/OSHA 300A, EEO-1, VETS 4212, AAP).

  • Support corporate compliance, accessibility coordination, and CARF standards.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate required employee training and maintain training records.

  • Support policy updates and communicate changes to staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience.

  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
