Richland Library is seeking to hire a HR Coordinator at our Main location.

Sample Duties:

  • Administers and maintains employee personnel files, records retention programs, and electronic HR records.
  • Oversees onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and employment requirements.
  • Administers employment verification processes, I-9 documentation, and compliance audits.
  • Coordinates and conducts HR audits and prepares documentation for internal and external reviews.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains HR policies, procedures, forms, workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinates exit interviews, stay interviews, and pulse surveys; compiles and reports employee feedback trends.
  • Maintains HR compliance reporting, workforce metrics, and operational dashboards.
  • Coordinates HR operational projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides guidance regarding HR operational procedures and serves as a resource to managers and employees.
  • Assists with recruitment administration, onboarding logistics, and new hire documentation
  • Assists with employee engagement activities, training programs, and recognition initiatives.
  • Participates on committees, task forces, and special projects.
  • Assists with preparation of presentations, reports, and communications.


Minimum Requirements:

Associate degree in human resources, business administration or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources experience in HR operations, compliance, records management, or related functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.


Location, Salary & Hours:

Where: Richland Library Main, 1431 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Salary: $63,000 - $73,000 annually, plus excellent benefits.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm with evening, weekend or emergency hours being possible.

Job Role & Level: P1; Pay Grade & Salary Band: 7; FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
