Job Summary
The HR Government Affairs Officer is responsible for managing and controlling the process of all activities related to government offices/agencies. The role oversees and ensures that responsibilities are executed in a timely manner, providing the business with efficient reports. The officer analyzes and interprets government policies, evaluates potential impact to the organization's operations, and reviews internal policies, plans, and programs to ensure consistency with corresponding government regulations and laws.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor the implementation of an improvement process for all immigration and labor records to be tracked and maintained through the established organization system.
- Assist in developing, managing, periodical review, and communicating government relations policies and processes to ensure organization compliance.
- Ensure to resolve immigration related issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper dissemination and keep the HR team informed of significant problems that may jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately.
- Facilitate and attend to employee queries regarding details of immigration formalities, and entitlements.
- Manage the processing of all immigration requirements in the most effective and efficient manner to expedite onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure to update relevant business areas with issues, risks, and statuses of immigration/government processes and provide relevant solutions in a timely manner.
- Ensure immigration processes are completed in minimal time including resident permits, driver licenses, visas, CID procedures, etc.
- Track and monitor relevant expiry dates and ensure that all time sensitive documents and licenses are renewed ahead of deadline to ensure full compliance and avoid fines.
- Maintain employee files and documents relevant to immigration transactions.
- In charge of the preparation of the internal memos and responsible for the proper monitoring of the reference numbers assigned in all departmental correspondences.
- Arrange the labor contracts for signature and stamping before sending for attestation in the Labor Department.
- Ensure proper recording and updating of the master files of exit permits, business visa renewal and RP renewal.
- Keep abreast of current labor/immigration laws and update the HR staff on any changes.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of Qatar Labor Law.
- Good knowledge of government process and transactions related to work.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 5 years working experience; 3 years relevant working experience; 2 years GCC experience is a plus.

Education
