Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our dynamic HR team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources management. The ideal candidate will assist with HR functions, support talent acquisition efforts, and contribute to employee engagement initiatives while developing essential skills in human capital management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews using ATS systems such as Lever or iCIMS.
- Support employee orientation and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Participate in employee evaluation processes and assist with performance management initiatives.
- Aid in the administration of benefits programs and assist employees with inquiries regarding benefits administration.
- Contribute to projects related to change management, strategic planning, and organization design.
- Help maintain HRIS databases for accurate data entry and reporting on workforce management metrics.
- Engage in employee relations activities, addressing inquiries and supporting conflict management efforts.
- Assist with training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Support affirmative action planning and succession planning initiatives as needed.
- Conduct data collection for various HR projects and assist in preparing reports for management review.
Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of human capital management principles, FMLA, employment & labor law, and OSHA regulations.
- Familiarity with talent acquisition strategies, employee orientation processes, and performance management systems.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools related to HR functions.
- Proficiency in using HR software such as Workday, Paychex, Dayforce, Oracle HCM, or SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and employees at all levels.
- Administrative experience that includes data entry, interviewing techniques, social media management for recruitment purposes, and payroll processing knowledge using systems like ADP or Paylocity is beneficial.
