Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HR Manager with a unique background in Civil Engineering and Human Resources to join our dynamic team. Based in our Mumbai office, the ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to the management, responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support our business objectives, particularly in talent acquisition, compliance, and employee relations within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
This role requires a deep understanding of the technical workforce, combined with robust knowledge of Indian labour laws and modern HR practices. You will be instrumental in attracting top-tier engineering and construction talent, ensuring statutory compliance, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening to interviewing, negotiating offers, and onboarding.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to spot and acquire talent at scale, specifically for technical roles (Civil Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, etc.).
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
- Labour Law & Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure 100% compliance with all central and state labour laws, including but not limited to the Factories Act, PF & ESI regulations, Contract Labour Act, and Payment of Wages Act.
- Manage all statutory filings, audits, and inspections, liaising with government authorities as required.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal and compliance-related HR matters, including grievance handling and disciplinary actions.
- HR Operations & Technology:
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including payroll processing, leave management, and employee data management.
- Effectively utilize our HR and Payroll solutions and our ERP system (ERPNext) to streamline processes and generate reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Foster a positive and productive work environment by addressing employee grievances and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and retention.
- Act as a bridge between management and employees, ensuring clear communication channels.
- Performance Management & Development:
- Administer the performance appraisal process, ensuring fairness and objectivity.
- Work with department heads to identify training needs and coordinate relevant learning and development programs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:
- Master's Degree in Human Resources (MBA-HR, MHRM, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) is mandatory.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist or HR Manager role.
- Location & Work Schedule:
- Must be a resident of Mumbai or willing to relocate immediately.
- Must be willing to work from our office located at Goregaon / Ram Mandir Road.
- Availability to work from Monday to Saturday is required.
- Technical & Legal Expertise:
- Deep, practical understanding of Indian Labour Laws and Compliances.
- Proven proficiency in using HR & Payroll software and ERP solutions. Hands-on experience with ERPNext is a significant advantage.
- Communication Skills:
- Solid command of English and Hindi (both written and verbal) is essential.
Highly Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Candidates with significant professional experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry will be given very high preference.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in an additional regional language (e.g., Marathi) will be a strong asset.
