Job Summary:

The HR Manager will oversee and manage all human resource functions for the civil construction business, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, statutory compliance, training & development, and HR policies. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing HR operations at project sites and corporate level within the construction or infrastructure industry.

Key Responsibilities:1. Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Plan and manage manpower requirements for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers to identify skilled and unskilled labor needs.
  • Source and recruit engineers, site supervisors, safety officers, and contract labor.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a positive and compliant work culture across corporate and site locations.
  • Address employee grievances and implement disciplinary procedures when required.

3. Statutory Compliance & Industrial Relations

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws (Factories Act, BOCW Act, CLRA, ESI, PF, Gratuity, etc.).
  • Maintain and update statutory records, licenses, and returns.

4. Performance Management & Training

  • Implement performance appraisal systems and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programs for technical and non-technical staff.

5. HR Operations & Policy Implementation

  • Oversee onboarding, attendance, leave management, and payroll coordination.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies, code of conduct, and safety culture.
  • Maintain HR MIS reports and analytics for management review.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of HR experience, with at least 4–5 years in the civil construction / infrastructure / EPC sector.
  • Knowledge:
  • Construction site HR operations
  • Statutory labor compliance and contractor management
  • Industrial relations and workforce handling
  • HR systems and tools

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership and team management ability
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software (e.g., SAP HR, ERP systems)
