Job Title: HR Manager – Operations, Policy &

Compliance

Department: Human Resources

Location: [Insert Location]

Reports To: Director / Head of HR / Managing Director

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the HR Operations function by ensuring smooth execution of all HR

processes, developing and implementing company policies, and maintaining full statutory

and regulatory compliance. The role demands a strategic yet hands-on professional who

can align HR systems with organizational objectives while maintaining discipline,

consistency, and a positive work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HR Operations Management

  • Oversee all HR operational activities including attendance, payroll coordination, leave

management, and employee lifecycle management.

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, HRIS/HRMS data, and

documentation.

  • Manage onboarding, induction, confirmation, and exit formalities.
  • Coordinate with Finance for payroll inputs and related reconciliations.

2. Policy Development & Implementation

  • Draft, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Standardize HR processes across departments to ensure fairness and transparency.
  • Conduct regular policy training and communication sessions.
  • Review and revise policies as per changes in labor laws or business needs.

3. Statutory Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and labor laws such as PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, and

Shops & Establishment Act.

  • Handle inspections, audits, and submissions to government departments.
  • Maintain documentation and timely filings for all HR-related compliances.
  • Liaise with external consultants and agencies for compliance matters.

4. Employee Relations & Discipline

  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and counseling sessions.
  • Promote a healthy and compliant workplace culture.
  • Support management in conflict resolution and workforce harmony.

5. Performance & Process Improvement

  • Assist in implementing the Performance Management System (PMS).
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports for management review.

  • Strong understanding of labor laws and statutory compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and implement HR policies.
  • Excellent organizational and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRMS tools and MS Office.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
  • 4–8 years of experience in HR Operations, Policy formulation, and Compliance.
  • Experience in handling HR functions in a mid-sized or multi-location organization

preferred.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Days: 6 Days a Week (or as per company policy)

Salary: As per industry standards

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
