HR Officer – Construction Company

Job Summary
The HR Officer plays a critical role in supporting the human resources function within a dynamic construction environment. This position ensures compliance with labor laws, manages workforce logistics, and fosters a safe, productive, and engaged workplace culture across project sites and corporate offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate hiring for site and office roles, including laborers, engineers, and administrative staff.
- Conduct interviews, background checks, and onboarding processes.
- Employee Relations
- Address grievances, mediate disputes, and promote positive labor relations.
- Support site supervisors in managing team dynamics and morale.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and certifications.
- Training & Development
- Organize safety training, skill development workshops, and orientation sessions.
- Track training completion and evaluate effectiveness.
- Payroll & Benefits
- Assist in payroll processing, attendance tracking, and leave management.
- Administer employee benefits and respond to related inquiries.
- Health & Safety
- Collaborate with HSE teams to promote safety awareness and compliance.
- Support incident reporting and follow-up procedures.
- Performance Management
- Monitor employee performance and support appraisal processes.
- Help identify high-potential staff for promotion or development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in construction or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working on construction sites or with field teams.
- Multilingual abilities (especially useful in diverse labor environments).
- Certification in HR (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is a plus.
