Role Summary

The HR Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR administrative and operational functions for the company in the Mumbai region. This role focuses on ensuring efficient delivery of HR services, compliance with labor laws, accurate payroll processing, and effective management of HR data and employee life cycle processes within the fast-paced retail jewellery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Process Management:
  • Oversee and streamline all core HR operational processes, including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, and performance management documentation.

* Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and documentation are up-to-date and consistently applied across the organization.

  • Compliance & Audit:
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and central labor laws, regulations, and reporting requirements applicable in Mumbai (e.g., Factories Act, Shops and Establishments Act, PF, ESIC, Gratuity).
  • Manage and participate in internal and external HR audits.
  • Payroll & Compensation:
  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll processing in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring accuracy, timely disbursement, and correct statutory deductions.
  • Administer employee benefits and compensation schemes.
  • HRIS & Data Management:
  • Serve as the key administrator for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Generate and maintain regular HR reports and metrics (e.g., headcount, attrition, cost of labor) for management review.
  • Employee Support & Documentation:
  • Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding queries related to HR policies, benefits, and operational procedures.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and confidential employee records, files, and HR documents.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure a smooth transition of employees from recruitment to onboarding.

✅ Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA/PGDM in HR is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in HR Operations, with significant experience in the Retail or Jewellery industry is a strong advantage.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proven experience with HRIS/HRMS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or Tally for payroll).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Core Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance for the Mumbai/Maharashtra region.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of organizational skill.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle employee queries and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,747.46 - ₹45,684.12 per month
