Job Overview

Athens Post Acute / Blue Lake Post Acute are 60 bed skilled nursing facilities in DeLand. We are searching for a detail oriented candidate for our HR / Payroll Coordinator position to join our Team.

This role is essential in supporting the HR department in various administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, payroll management, and benefits administration, along with proficiency in HRIS and financial software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain employee records within the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Oversee payroll management processes, including data entry and reconciliation of payroll information.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy related to HR functions.
  • Assist with accounts payable processes related to HR expenditures.
  • Support the recruitment process by coordinating interviews, conducting background checks, and onboarding new employees.
  • Collaborate with management to implement HR policies and procedures that align with organizational goals.
  • Prepare reports on HR metrics such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and compliance metrics.
  • Provide support for training initiatives and professional development programs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in human resources or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems for managing employee data effectively.
  • Experience with benefits administration and payroll management systems (ADP experience is a plus).
  • Familiarity with financial software for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees at all levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care settings.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
