This position serves as the operational backbone of our HR department—managing payroll, benefits administration, employee lifecycle processes, compliance, and key internal initiatives that support a positive and engaging workplace culture.

This is a full-time, hybrid role for someone who enjoys collaboration, organization, and being a trusted resource for employees and leadership alike.

What You’ll Do

As our HR Specialist, you’ll manage the day-to-day operational functions of the HR department while helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and vendor coordination.
  • Oversee the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and personnel record maintenance.
  • Monitor employment law and compliance requirements, supporting audits and reporting as needed.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and internal events.
  • Support Board meeting logistics, organizational events, and internal initiatives.
  • Assist with office operations and administrative projects that support the organization.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who brings strong HR experience along with the personal qualities that make them a trusted and dependable member of the team.

Experience & Skills

  • 2–3 years of Human Resources experience, including payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems and SharePoint preferred.

This position requires the first 90 days to be spent working in our Saco office. After that initial period, the role is eligible for a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
