Job Overview

Premier PV is opening a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dallas, TX, and we are searching for an experienced and energetic HR Specialist to serve as the onsite HR presence for the facility. This role will support day-to-day HR functions for a high-volume manufacturing environment, including handling walk-in candidates, coordinating hiring activities, supporting employee relations, and partnering with remote HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to escalate more complex HR matters.

The HR Specialist will be instrumental in creating a positive employee experience at the plant, supporting HR processes, and ensuring compliance with company practices and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Talent Acquisition & Onsite Support

  • Greet and assist walk-in candidates; provide information on open roles and guide individuals through the application process.
  • Coordinate onsite interviews, plant tours, hiring events, and pre-employment activities.
  • Maintain a professional HR presence on the manufacturing floor, ensuring availability for employee questions and HR-related needs.

HR Operations

  • Conduct new-hire orientation and onboarding for plant employees in a timely and engaging manner.
  • Collect, review, and process new-hire documentation; enter employee data accurately into the HRIS system.
  • Support workforce compliance including I-9 completion, E-Verify, personnel file maintenance, and adherence to company policies.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a knowledgeable HR point of contact for employees regarding policies, attendance, benefits, and general HR questions.
  • Document and escalate employee relations issues to the designated HR Business Partner as needed.
  • Assist with investigations by gathering statements, documentation, and observations.

Training & Communication

  • Support training for supervisors and plant personnel on HR processes such as timekeeping, policy compliance, and onboarding requirements.
  • Help ensure HR communications, safety postings, and required employment notices are properly maintained.

Payroll & Administrative Support

  • Assist employees with timekeeping questions and coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate processing.
  • Monitor and report attendance trends; support corrective action processes.

General HR Support

  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Assist with HR projects, reporting, and other duties as assigned by HR leadership.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR 2+ years equivalent HR experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Experience with HRIS systems; UKG Pro experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law basics, and HR administrative processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport in a diverse manufacturing workforce.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Experience in a high-volume hiring environment or manufacturing HR role.
  • Strong customer-service mindset with a proactive, approachable style.
  • Comfortable working independently with remote HRBP support.
