Job Title: HRIS Business Analyst / Project Manager (HR, Payroll, Recruiting)Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HRIS Business Analyst / Project Manager to support the selection and potential implementation of a new HRIS platform covering HR, Payroll, and Recruiting.
This role is approximately 70–75% business analysis and 25–30% project management. Responsibilities include leading requirements gathering, supporting vendor selection, developing demonstration scripts, and preparing the organization for implementation.
You will work within a structured, proven delivery model with a direct line to a Project Director/Account Manager throughout the engagement. This is a plug-and-play environment with established templates, tools, and processes designed for efficiency.
This is a full-time, primarily remote role supporting a private organization (~300 employees), with an initial 4-month engagement (selection phase + transition) and the potential to extend through full implementation (~10 months total).
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis
- Lead requirements gathering sessions across HR, Payroll, and Recruiting stakeholders
- Document current and future state processes and translate into clear functional and technical requirements
- Define requirements for data conversion, integrations/interfaces, reporting, roles, and permissions
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Maintain organized, traceable requirements documentation
Project Management
- Manage timelines, meetings, deliverables, risks, and action items
- Support communication across stakeholders, leadership, and vendors
- Ensure alignment between business needs, project activities, and vendor deliverables
- Lead implementation transition activities, including knowledge transfer of requirements, decisions, and key context
- Ensure continuity between selection outputs and implementation inputs to minimize rework
Vendor Selection & Demonstration Support
- Develop vendor demonstration scripts based on real business scenarios
- Prepare vendors to ensure demos are structured, relevant, and comparable
- Facilitate and support vendor demo sessions
- Partner with stakeholders to evaluate and score vendors
- Support selection decision-making, including documentation and follow-ups
Vendor Transition
- Support handoff from selection to implementation team/vendor
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood and carried forward
- Validate alignment between selected solution and documented requirements
Phase 2: Implementation Execution (Optional Extension)
- Continue as BA/PM support throughout implementation (if extended)
- Support design sessions, requirements clarification, and configuration validation
- Develop and support test scripts, UAT coordination, and issue tracking
- Maintain alignment between implementation activities and business requirements
- Support stakeholder communication, readiness, and adoption
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP, UKG/Kronos, UltiPro (UKG Pro), or similar
- Experience across HR, Payroll, and Recruiting systems
- Strong experience in requirements gathering and documentation (functional and technical)
- Experience with data conversion, integrations/interfaces, and reporting requirements
- Understanding of roles, permissions, and information security within HR systems
- Experience supporting vendor selection, including demos and scoring
- Experience with project management tools such as SharePoint, JIRA, MS Project, or similar
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting HR teams and core HR processes
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting HRIS implementations
- Familiarity with RFP processes and vendor evaluation methods
- Experience in organizations with 200–1,000 employees
- Ability to work within structured processes while adapting to team needs

Pay: $75.00 - $95.00 per hour
