Schwarz Partners has an exciting opportunity available for an HRIS & Payroll Analyst in Carmel, IN! As the HRIS & Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for partnering with our field payroll and HR resources across North America, providing day-to-day payroll, tax, and Human Capital Management system support for approximately 4,000 employees across 40 states. You will support payroll and tax issue resolution, ad-hoc projects, and compliance activities. A strong customer focus and attention to detail is critical!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:- Assists facilities with payroll processing, quarter-end, and year-end processes to produce timely and accurate W2’s.
- Ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll and calculating payroll taxes.
- Works with field payroll resources and Ceridian tax resources to investigate and resolve quarterly and annual tax issues.
- Champions optimal use of Payroll and HR system to drive accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Provides timely and thorough solutions to end-user issues.
- Recommends process and customer service improvements through innovative solutions.
- Develops and maintains training and best practices documentation for end-users.
- Trains new system users and supports the ongoing training of existing users.
- Works with facilities to ensure quarter end and year end deadlines for payroll adjustments and tax filing are accurate and complete.
- Helps facilitate the setup of new payroll tax accounts with HCM vendor quickly and accurately; resolves tax inaccuracies/fallouts and tax-related issues and agency notices.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of payroll tax calculation rules, payroll tax reporting and tax form filing, for federal/state/local payroll withholding and unemployment taxes.
- Ensures federal, state, and local payroll tax rates are up-to-date and correctly calculated.
- Performs regular audits to validate system data is current and accurate.
- Supports the addition of new sites to the system and ongoing maintenance of existing sites.
- Assists in the ongoing support of system integrations to ensure proper functionality.
- Assists in the general ledger account configuration and maintenance.
- Participates in system testing, ad-hoc audits, and other projects as assigned
- Generates reports as needed.
- Evaluate user feedback, preferences, and experiences to improve end-user experience.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Builds strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicates clearly with HR team and stakeholders.
- Works nights and weekends as needed when critical system issues arise.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 1-3+ years of multi-state payroll and payroll tax experience required.
- 1-3+ years’ experience working with cloud-based HCM systems.
- Understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws, processes, and policies.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:- Ceridian Dayforce HCM experience is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):- In-depth knowledge of and experience with HCM and payroll systems.
- Thorough understanding of payroll procedures and wage and hour law compliance.
