Job Summary

The HSE officer/engineer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe work environment.

Duties

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential health and safety hazards
  • Preparing the Construction Phase Safety Plan and ensuring plan is being implemented, monitored and reviewed.
  • Conducting monthly Safety meetings, setting the target to achieve the outstanding issues, prepare/submit the minutes to all concerned for follow-up.
  • Review Emergency Preparedness and Response, Permit-to-work system, Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, HSE statistics & records of the contractors according to Company requirements.
  • Formulating and implementing the HSE training plan for all hazardous activities in the region in consultation with top management for organizational development
  • Guiding the site management staff and employees to control hazards, implementing control, and working in compliance with client standards.
  • Monitoring safety officer's regular inspection of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out under Company Policy, Method Statement,’s and the relevant statutory provisions.
  • Identifying potential hazards on new contracts before the commencement of work, proposing the safety organization and emergency precautions required.
  • Preparing safety and health requirements, compiling the project safety manual and all related procedures.
  • Issuing HSE alerts for all reported medium & high potential incidents and the potential near misses; establishing HAZOP, ALARP.
  • Spearheading the risk assessment as per method statement for specific task & completing risk assessment address meeting for workers

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • B.Sc. or equivalent degree in environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.
  • With recognized Health and Safety education, certifications (ADVETI), license or training in UAE (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHAD - Qudorat, First Aid, Fire Safety, etc).
  • 4+ years of construction supervision experience working as a Safety Officer.
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in Piling and Foundation construction supervision.

Pay: From AED1.00 per year
