HSE Inspector

The Role

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies and safety standards. • Identify hazards and unsafe practices and report them to the HSE Officer or Project Manager. • Monitor implementation of safety measures, PPE usage, and safe work procedures by all site personnel. • Assist in conducting toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions. • Document and report near misses, incidents, and accidents, supporting investigation processes. • Ensure fire safety equipment, scaffolding, ladders, and machinery meet safety standards. • Verify that construction materials and site conditions comply with safety requirements. • Maintain HSE records, checklists, and inspection reports for audits. • Assist in emergency preparedness, drills, and first-aid arrangements. • Collaborate with site engineers, supervisors, and contractors to correct unsafe conditions promptly.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, or related field. • 3 years of experience as an HSE Inspector in building construction projects. • Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations and risk assessment practices. • Ability to inspect, identify, and report safety hazards effectively. • Familiarity with safety documentation, inspection checklists, and reporting tools. • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word). • Strong communication, observation, and coordination skills. • Ability to enforce safety compliance on site. • Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE standards. • Experience in residential, commercial, or high-rise building projects. • Knowledge of environmental safety and waste management practices on construction sites.
