Safety Officer

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to join our project team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, construction site safety practices, and ISO standards. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all health, safety, and environmental procedures at site to ensure a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise management and site personnel on workplace hazards and safety precautions.
  • Prepare and review safety requirements for Work Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of all safety equipment.
  • Monitor site security, fire protection systems, first aid facilities, and welfare arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, UAE regulations, and client safety requirements.
  • Implement and enforce the project Safety Plan across all site activities.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and maintain inspection records.
  • Assist site management in resolving safety-related issues and non-conformities.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training programs.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences and prepare reports.
  • Maintain a visible presence on site and address workers’ safety concerns promptly.
  • Liaise with client representatives and regulatory authorities regarding HSE matters.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with company and project safety requirements.
  • Administer and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
  • Report incidents involving personnel, equipment, materials, company assets, and third-party facilities.

  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 14001
  • ISO 45001
  • ADOSH SF Version 4 requirements

Qualifications & Certifications

  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Fire Safety / Fire Warden Training
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certificate
  • Risk Assessment / HIRA Training

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and ADOSH requirements.
  • Experience in accident investigation, risk assessment, and safety inspections.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks effectively.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid UAE Driving License
