Role Summary



The HSE Inspector is a dedicated field position responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, surveillance, and direct enforcement of safety protocols across the work site. This role involves actively patrolling the site to observe working practices, identify non-compliance, and immediately halt unsafe activities.



Core Duties & Responsibilities (Briefs)



  • Site Surveillance: Conduct continuous, systematic walk-through inspections of the site, equipment, and working areas.

  • Hazard Identification: Identify and report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliant work practices instantly to site supervision.

  • Compliance Checks: Verify that all personnel are using mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and that all machinery and tools are properly certified and maintained.

  • Permit Monitoring: Ensure that required safety permits (e.g., Permit-to-Work, confined space entry ) are valid, correctly displayed, and strictly followed.

  • Safety Corrections: Intervene immediately to stop any high-risk activity and guide workers to correct and perform the task safely.

  • Documentation: Log all inspection findings, safety observations, and corrective actions taken in daily reports.



Requirements

  • Experience: Practical experience in a field safety role, typically requiring 3 to 5 years of experience in a construction or industrial environment.

  • Certifications: Relevant safety training certificates (e.g., OSHA, scaffolding inspection, etc.) are highly desirable.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of standard construction safety regulations and protocols.

  • Observation Skills: Exceptional ability to identify hazards and unsafe acts in a fast-paced environment.

  • Enforcement: Requires a firm but professional demeanor to enforce safety rules among workers and supervision.

  • Reporting: Proficiency in daily field safety reporting and recording observations accurately.
