Job Purpose:
To ensure the effective implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations at the workplace, aiming to maintain a safe and compliant working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance & Monitoring
- Ensure compliance with local and international HSE laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with approved method statements and risk assessments.
- Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Monitor and enforce safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE awareness programs for workers and supervisors.
- Maintain records of HSE training and certifications for all staff.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation such as HSE plans, risk assessments (RA), method statements (MS), and safety checklists.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports to management and clients as required.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency response plans, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.
- Conduct periodic emergency drills and evaluate the effectiveness of response procedures.
- Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors on safety-related matters.
- Liaise with clients and consultants regarding HSE compliance and audit requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering or related field.
- NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA certification (mandatory or preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HSE (preferably in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects).
- Strong knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and recommend practical solutions.
