HSE Officer (Port & Marine Projects)

We are looking to hire an experienced HSE Officer for our project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will assist in implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across Port, Marine, Roads, and Infrastructure construction projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with UAE HSE regulations, client requirements, and company safety standards while promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, project requirements, and company standards.
• Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and toolbox talks.
• Monitor marine, port, dredging, and construction activities to ensure safe work practices.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
• Support the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system and verify compliance with approved procedures.
• Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses, and assist in investigations.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, permits, and safety documentation.
• Conduct safety inductions and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with supervisors and subcontractors to resolve HSE issues promptly.
• Promote safety awareness and encourage a positive safety culture on site.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of HSE experience in construction projects.
• Experience in Port, Marine, Coastal, Dredging, Roads, and Infrastructure Projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction safety practices.
• Experience in marine operations, quay walls, breakwaters, jetties, dredging, reclamation, and port infrastructure works is an advantage.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
• Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural project environment.
