As a HSE Specialist at Hempel, you will be actively involved in the execution and supervision of the HSE activities in factory operations and report all relevant details to the HSE Team Leader.

Here are some key responsibilities to look forward to

  • Provide HSE guidance and operational support to ensure safe practices across Jeddah factory operations.
  • Lead the execution of Safety Excellence program and report performances to the HSE Team Leader.
  • Collaborate with HSE team members to ensure effective implementation of safety and sustainability projects.
  • Assist in planning and delivering site-wide HSE campaigns to enhance awareness and engagement.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE management system procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs focused on operational safety and environmental performance.
  • Promote and facilitate the use of the Hempel Assure platform for proactive HSE observation reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and participate in structured problem-solving workshops to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Organize monthly sustainability meetings and communicate progress, challenges, and action plans across teams.
  • Monitor HSE compliance during night shift operations and ensure timely resolution of any deviations.
  • Support waste management efforts and drive sustainability initiatives aligned with site objectives.
  • Provide HSE guidance to contractors and vendors, ensuring strict adherence to Permit-to-Work protocols.
  • Coordinate with internal services and security teams to monitor site safety and compile accurate reports.

This role will be based in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and reports into HSE Team Leader.

Furthermore, we expect that you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or any other engineering field with globally recognized HSE certifications (NEBOSH IGC).
  • 1 to 3 years of proven experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems, with practical experience in auditing and implementation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and solid understanding of SharePoint, Power BI, and Hempel Assure or similar HSE reporting platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
