The Training Superintendent leads the training department. Responsible for developing and overseeing training programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing a team of trainers and training coordinators. The ideal candidate will possess a MSHA Blue Card, First Aid training certification, and a strong background in underground mining operations.
- Develop implement and manage comprehensive training programs for underground mining personnel ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of trainers and training coordinators providing guidance support and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure all training programs comply with MSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Maintain and update training materials to reflect changes in industry practices technology and regulations.
- Conduct regular training sessions including leadership development, task & equipment operation and emergency response procedures.
- Oversee the assessment and certification of trainees ensuring they meet the required competency levels.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure training programs align with overall company goals and objectives.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations of training programs to identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and participate in safety inspections and audits.

Education:
High School Diploma
Work Experience:
Proven experience in underground mining operations with a minimum of five years in a supervisory or training role.
Knowledge Required :
- Knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems highly desirable.
- Must be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.
- Knowledge of the mining industry underground environment desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of mine regulations pertaining to construction in mining.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience managing a team of 10 or more individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information.
- Strong record keeping skills.

Other Requirements:
- MSHA blue card certification is required.
- Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
- Ability to work in an office setting for extended periods
- Ability to work in an underground mining environment including exposure to various physical conditions and the need for personal protective equipment.

- Abide by Company Health and Safety standards and report any unsafe acts or conditions to a supervisor and/or a member of the management team.
- Responsible for the use of all safety equipment, i.e., lanyards, warning signs and labeling, work permits according to company rules and applicable legislation.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA and MSHA legislation and know how to effectively use Safety Data Sheets (SDS). MSHA Certification is required by site.
- Follow Client on-site Health and Safety requirements.
- Completes Risk Assessments for each and every new and out of the ordinary task.
