Job Title: HR Generalist – Short-term Political Campaign

Role Overview
The HR Generalist for this 2-month campaign will be pivotal in managing knowledge-based recruitment and payroll operations for the campaign team. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment. You will ensure all HR processes — from onboarding to payroll — are seamless, allowing campaign teams to focus on impact.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for campaign roles such as research, content, design, media, and operations.
  • Maintain and update the hiring tracker, monitor open positions, and align recruitment with campaign priorities.
  • Source candidates via LinkedIn, Naukri, Internshala, referrals, and other channels.
  • Conduct candidate screening, coordinate interviews, and handle offer formalities.
  • Ensure timely onboarding, documentation, and background verification for campaign staff.

Payroll & HR Operations

  • Coordinate payroll for campaign employees, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement.
  • Track attendance, leave, and work hours; support punch-in/out monitoring.
  • Maintain employee records, confidentiality, and HR data integrity for short-term audits.

Employee Engagement & Support

  • Act as the primary HR contact for campaign staff, addressing queries and grievances.
  • Ensure smooth integration of new employees into the campaign team.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative, and transparent workplace environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and high-volume recruitment.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced, short-term HR operations with accuracy and empathy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in recruitment and HR operations, preferably handling on-ground teams.
  • Strong communication skills in Tamil and English.
  • Excellent Excel and HR data management skills.
