Human Resource Manager

Overall Objective

The HR Manager supports the General Manager in all decision-making related to strategic, organizational, and operational people matters for a luxury hotel property. The role aims to drive organizational performance through:

  • Quality: Effective recruitment, development, and engagement of capable and motivated team members.
  • Performance: Robust performance management, reward, and recognition.
  • Compliance: Efficient HR operations, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance.
Main Responsibilities

As a Business Partner to the hotel's General Manager and a trusted advisor to the management team, support the delivery of the hotel's business objectives by implementing the strategic HR agenda. This includes attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent, managing performance, organizational design, workforce planning, and ensuring HR operations are efficient and compliant.

Support and coach leadership on organizational and people topics to achieve guest service and business goals. Maintain and develop a strong employer brand, implement effective search and selection processes, and oversee onboarding.

Drive employee engagement through communication, activities, and feedback mechanisms, and address staff grievances proactively. Understand the hotel's market positioning and develop appropriate compensation and benefits structures based on benchmarking.

Plan and monitor the annual budget and staffing, prepare management and corporate reports, and ensure policy and legal compliance. Lead the HR team effectively, including recruitment, administration, and staff accommodation.

Implement global performance management, talent development, and succession planning. Manage internal talent mobility, including promotions and transfers. Project manage the rollout of new HR initiatives and systems. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Relevant university degree in law, business, economics, or HR management. Master's degree or professional accreditation is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in HR management within the luxury hospitality industry, with at least 2 years leading HR teams of similar size. Significant regional experience is required.
  • Language: Proficiency in the local language and English is mandatory. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Functional Competencies: Proven ability to manage HR operations, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement; strategic HR planning; legal compliance; HRIS proficiency (e.g., Oracle, SuccessFactors); budget management; and workforce planning.
