This position provides daily, in-person HR support to employees and managers. It reports to the CFO.
- Employee Relations & Communication
- Act as a primary point of contact for employees on HR-related issues
- Support and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- Conduct employee counseling, performance management, and conflict resolution as needed
- Ensure all communications are delivered effectively
- Build relationships with local trade schools and career fairs
- On-board new employees (using HRIS system)
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly and monthly payrolls (using HRIS system)
- Upload 401k and HSA contributions
- Assist employees with timesheets and HRIS access.
- Provide managers with data available in HRIS system to meet their needs.
- HR Compliance & Administration
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Assist with policy development and documentation
- Manage HR records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Assist with DOT and OSHA requirements
- Benefits Administration
- Coordinate and assist employees with benefits enrollment
- Manage work comp, leave management and unemployment
- Conduct annual open enrollment activities
- Talent Acquisition
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for various positions as needed
- Create job descriptions as needed
- Coordinating offers, background checks, and onboarding processes
- Maintain applicant tracking system and candidate records
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in an HR Manager role, required
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in HRIS software
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel.
