At Gavia Lifecare Center we are currently seeking a Human Resource Specialist to help manage our growing practice. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position and would be supporting our team of mental health providers primarily during the daytime hours and may be hybrid.

Gavia Lifecare Center is an Office of Mental Health licensed outpatient behavioral healthcare center on the forefront of implementing integrated mental healthcare services independent of a large medical facility. We pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health counseling, medication management, and crisis services in an outpatient setting.

The Human Resources and Payroll Specialist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the business. Duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents and working with members of other departments to review employee feedback and strategize HR programs to benefit the workplace.

  • Complete and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Generate internal documents/letters such as job offers, job reclassifications, and salary changes
  • Perform onboarding tasks for all new hires, including background checks
  • Communicating start dates of new employees to onboarding team
  • Process benefits paperwork, including 401k and AFLAC and updating these as needed
  • Assist in employee terminations/offboarding, including all necessary paperwork, termination in employee systems, and exit interviews
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance Specialist of exiting employee(s) and last day(s) for timely review of exiting staff notes
  • Maintain employee files, including personnel and payroll records
  • Collaborate with leadership to address performance management and/or behavioral concerns.
  • Create performance improvement plans as needed in coordination with Clinical Directors
  • Collaborate with leadership and assist with recruitment to edit and write job descriptions
  • Receive and address employee grievances/perform Human Resource investigations as needed.
  • Review and create Human Resource policies and ensure effective communication of these to staff.
  • Review and update Employee Handbook on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist employees with annual re-certifications, including sexual harassment training, code of conduct, etc. along with tracking of these trainings
  • Prepare and send cards for employee birthdays, anniversaries, and/or sympathy wishes
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent in Human Resources, PSychology, or a business related field strongly preferred.
  • 2 years experience working in Human Resources and Payroll required.
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing and communication tools
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and analytically driven
  • MS Office 365 and Outlook Suite
  • Familiarity with Encompass or other payroll systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
