SUMMARY The Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. This role is crucial for maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment and on-boarding, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of HR functions while upholding confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Update and maintain employee information in HR databases and physical files.
  • Compile and update records for staffing, recruitment, training, and performance.
  • Process HR documentation, including data entry and report preparation.
  • Handle clerical duties.
  • Track and approve monthly billing/invoices
  • Manage the applicant tracking system and send out applicant information to supervisors for review/input.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate with candidates.
  • Contact references and former employers.
  • Initiate background check.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation sessions and prepare necessary paperwork.
  • Provide support for benefits administration, including enrollment and inquiries.
  • Help answer and resolve payroll and benefits-related errors.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Assist with the coordination and communication of HR projects, events, and training sessions.
  • Handle employee grievances and complaints with professionalism.
  • Ensure HR information is kept confidential.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Help coordinate the on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, or in a similar administrative or HR support role.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of two years experience is preferred. Must possess above average interpersonal skills and problem solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
