Overview

AFIMAC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the HR department and serves as a backup for payroll processing. In this role, you will support various HR functions, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Assist HR Manager in various administrative functions, managing paperwork/mail, general office support.
  • Complete verifications of employment for current and former employees.
  • Prepare and submit unemployment paperwork as required.
  • Maintain employee records in HR systems such as BullHorn and UKG, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Onboard field employees in BullHorn, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with company standards.
  • Process changes and terminations for field employees in BullHorn.
  • Serve as backup for payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs.
  • Communicate with employees, candidates, and external parties, while being timely and professional.
  • Participate in project management activities related to HR initiatives and programs.
  • Handle sensitive employee information and maintain strict confidentiality.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong project management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Understanding of employment labor laws to ensure compliance within the workplace.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective employee relations and communication.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems; experience with UKG and BullHorn software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 year's experience in Human Resources environment.
  • Ability to be in office, possible nights/weekends/overtime.
  • Possible travel.
  • Pay is based on experience.
