Purpose of the Job

The HR Assistant is responsible for supporting and coordinating day-to-day

HR operations while managing designated tasks and projects. Key

responsibilities include training, onboarding, Benefits, and other related

areas. This position involves performing a variety of human resources duties,

ranging from basic to semi-complex tasks, while adhering to established

laws, rules, policies, and regulations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws,

regulations, and company policies.

Maintain confidentiality of employee data (both electronic and paper)

and protect the confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality and maintain

professional boundaries.

  • Conduct internal audits
  • Schedule and coordinate HR-related activities and training
  • Assists the HR Manager with management of the Company's benefits

and benefits vendors.

  • Managing the onboarding process, providing training, and educating

new employees on HR policies.

  • Administrative support of the HR department.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of staff training

and compliant processing of benefit enrollments, changes, and

terminations for approval.

  • Maintain relationship with benefit carriers and TPA to provide excellent

processing experience and issue resolution for employees

  • Coordinate yearly Open Enrollment, ensure accuracy of enrollment and

approve changes

  • Update Payroll Profiles for all benefit enrollments. Making changes

when necessary.

  • Audit benefit invoices monthly and submit to accounting for cost

allocation, or payment

  • Track missed payroll deductions and make the necessary adjustments

Workers Compensation:

Assist with the administration of the workers compensation program

to ensure compliance with insurance reporting standards, applicable

laws and appropriate follow up to ensure a prompt return to work or

other actions to be taken

  • Monitor claims, communicate with TPA,
  • Attend risk control meetings twice annually.

Payroll:

  • Stay updated on Federal & State laws affecting Payroll

Assist the Payroll Manager when necessary

  • Conduct internal Audits
  • Ensure compliance with ACA (Affordable Care Act) requirements

and the distribution of necessary ACA forms.

  • Audit WFN for missing / incorrect EE information affecting potential

ACA trending assessment

  • Proper auditing for preparation of 1095-C

Knowledge and Skills

Broad knowledge of State and Federal employment laws, rules, and

regulations governing HR practices.

  • Knowledge of departmental procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with state and federal employment laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with skills in Excel.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of ADP WFN system
  • Ability to handle confidential matters using discretion and good

judgement ensuring confidentiality and integrity

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional

relationships.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and self-motivate, as well as in a team

environment

QUALIFICATIONS / Requirements

Prior experience in compensation and benefits administration is

required.

  • Minimum 3+ years of Human Resources / Union payroll experience

with working knowledge of ADP WFN is a must.

Pay Range 65,000 – 80,000

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
