Human Resources Assistant

Job Description

Position Title: Human Resources Assistant (Part-Time)
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week

Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the HR Manager and assists with daily HR functions including recruiting coordination, onboarding documentation, employee record management, and compliance tracking.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, resourceful, proactive, and eager to learn core HR processes. The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR Manager to help ensure HR operations run smoothly while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administrative Support

  • Provide direct administrative support to the HR Manager.
  • Maintain organized employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Assist with preparing HR documents such as employment verifications, onboarding paperwork, and HR forms.
  • Organize and maintain both digital and physical HR documentation.
  • Assist with tracking HR-related tasks, deadlines, and compliance requirements.

Recruiting & Hiring Support

  • Assist with coordinating interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Maintain recruiting trackers and candidate records.
  • Post job openings on job boards and assist with resume organization.
  • Coordinate background checks and pre-employment screenings through approved vendors.
  • Assist with onboarding preparation for new hires.

Employee Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR files.
  • Assist with onboarding documentation and new hire paperwork.
  • Support HR compliance tracking including required documentation and employee records.
  • Assist with organizing HR documents to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.

HR Operations Support

  • Assist with tracking employee information including updates to employee records.
  • Support internal HR communications when needed.
  • Assist with HR reporting and data entry as requested.
  • Provide general administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous administrative or office support experience preferred.
  • Interest in learning Human Resources processes and compliance practices.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar tools.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
