Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Manager. The Payroll Assistant will support in the efficient operation of processing payroll. Perform duties related to payroll operations.
Duties : included but not limited to the following:
Maintains payroll records information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Including recording hours of work, processing time records, and maintaining payroll control records.
Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases
Aide with a high volume of payroll, to include 950+ employees
Maintain knowledge base and resource information for multi-state payroll processing
Assist with processing employee changes to direct deposit, deductions, child support, wage garnishments, wage verifications etc.
Backup for Payroll Supervisor for processing payrolls as well as prepare paychecks for distribution
Answering questions and requests related to payroll in a timely manner
Maintains payroll operations by following policies, procedures and confidential information
Assist in special projects at the direction of the Payroll Manager
Other duties may be assigned
Skills:
Ability to sort and file numerically.
Input information with speed and accuracy.
Ability to use computer terminal, ten key by touch, facsimile, and copier.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to handle highly confidential information
