Human Resources Associate for a Veterinary Emergency Facility

Human Resources Associate (HR OperationsEmployee Relations 24-Hour Emergency Veterinary Hospital)
Position Summary
This role directly supports an Emergency Veterinary Hospital that delivers quality medical
care to the patients and clients of the Kentuckiana area 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

This role is a full time daytime, administrative role that ensures legal compliance, consistent
policy administration, benefits oversight, and support for our Doctors and support staff.
You will be working with ADP Totalsource (Workforce Now) as well as seasoned Veterinary professionals that
will provide support to this role. You will work onsite 4 days per week, Monday through
Thursday with the 5th day being remote if desired. Hours of work are flexible as long as the
majority are during normal business hours.


Key Responsibilities
HR OperationsCompliance
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and SOPs
Oversee personnel file integrity and HRIS accuracy
Manage unemployment claims, workers' compensation, and risk mitigation
Maintain and update job descriptions
Assist with Doctor contract building and maintenance

Benefits Oversight
Administer benefits programs and annual open enrollment
Handle FMLA and other Leave matters in conjunction with ADP TotalSource
Assist with compensation benchmarking and pay band maintenance

HR ReportingWorkforce Metrics
Track turnover, retention, vacancy rates, and labor cost ratios
Provide monthly workforce reports to hospital leadership
Identify trends affecting overnight and weekend staffing stability

Qualifications
5+ years progressive HR experience
Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance
Experience in healthcare or veterinary settings preferred
Bachelor's degree in HR or related field (PHR/SPHR preferred)
ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
