Summary:
This Human Resources Business Partner will be joining our team in Santa Rosa, CA. This pivotal role requires a seasoned HR professional with at least five years of experience, including prior leadership or management experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise working with both unionized and non-unionized employees, fostering positive workplace relationships and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. Travel Expectations: This position involves frequent travel, with approximately 50% of time spent visiting our additional office locations in Oakland and Mira Loma, CA. All travel expenses will be fully covered by DON.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Bachelor's degree 3+ years of progressive HR experience generalist or senior generalist capacity
Broad human resources knowledge with experience in colleague relations, recruitment, benefits, and compensation
Prior experience with unions a plus.
Strong people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of colleagues and management
Must travel as needed
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive HR experience
Working knowledge Workday. PHR or SPHR certified.
Essential Duties:
Provide counsel to colleagues and management ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws.
Conduct internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements.
Collaborate with management to successfully execute the annual performance review cycles
Provide guidance to management regarding performance issues.
Work with Union representatives to facilitate a good working relationship as needed.
Partner with management to address any grievance administration, while successfully administering compliance of CBA.
Oversee local unemployment compensation claims, local worker’s compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance.
Possess an intimate understanding of the leave of absence process, including but not limited to FMLA, work comp disability.
Actively engage in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identifies opportunities to create consistency where necessary.
Continue to partner with Sysco's Centers of Excellence (COE) to execute best practice.
Support the Director of HR executing HR strategic initiatives.
Maintain current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
